The monitor setup was straightforward-one ticket though, I was replacing an dilapidated 19" ViewSonic so I was already familiar with their menu system. No stuck pixels, I don't discover any light or murky bands.

Colors are wonderful, text is crisp and positive. Resolution is superior, it's going to be fun trying to gain up all the extra actual estate, there's room for all but my biggest spreadsheets.

On games: the mammoth shroud and high resolution and snappy response time has left my kids envious, and the neighbor kids, and most anyone else who's seen it.

Bought this monitor after doing a lot of research on which monitor to earn. My first choice was a Samsung 226BW but after reading about quality control issues with the lcd panel on those I decided to go with the Viewsonic since it had the best color reproduction and speedily response time.

This monitor is expansive as long as you withhold the dynamic inequity feature off and configure your video card's gamma setting properly(my 8800GT had to be region to 10% gamma) . The spot is that dynamic difference will turn itself wait on on whenever the monitor goes to standby mode, turned off or changes resolution. The menu will display that it is off but it is actually on since turning it on and off in the menu will then build it actually off. It's very easy to gawk when its on by looking at skin tones....they peruse imperfect with dynamic incompatibility turned on.

I bought the 19 streak version to this monitor at the same time and that one does not have this dilemma. I was going to send the 22 scoot assist but I'm out of the US and it would cost too worthy to send benefit. I've learned to live with the pickle and every time I sit at the computer I create obvious to turn the dynamic dissimilarity on and wait on off.

Settings that give me the best portray quality are:

Monitor brigthness = 15

Monitor Incompatibility = 65

Monitor Dynamic Inequity = Off

Monitor Color Adjust = 6500K

Video Card(Nvidia 8800GT) Gamma = 0% to 10%

Video Card(Nvidia 8800GT) Brightness and Disagreement = 50%

Wow!! What a treat having the ViewSonic VX2240w 22' LCD Monitor. Was a improbable brand, easy hookup, and not a single dilemma. I impartial appreciate Viewsonic! I upgraded from my 19" Viewsonic LCD monitor, which was 2 yrs. faded and totally troublefree, to this 22" to enhance my gameplaying. Fair astonishing. I also recently bought my wife a ViewSonic 22" TV monitor, which we honest cherish. You can't beat ViewSonic's ticket, features, dependability, and ease of expend and installation. Obvious, if you want to employ $600 or more for the very best designate that it is out there you might obtain a diminutive better performance, but have me, I researched alot of different manufacturers before I made this VX2240w retract, and I couldn't win anything better that fit my needs, esp. imprint!! I play World of Warcraft, and it has taken on a whole novel dimension with this monitor. Can't go deplorable with this monitor.

The shoes work gargantuan now, but did recall a few court-days to wear in and catch expedient traction. The first couple of games, I lost traction on hard directional changes. Maybe there's some kind of coating on them when shipped that needs to be venerable off? Anyway - the shoes are tall now - fit fair to specifications, obliging traction, nice feel for jumping.

This shoe is incredible. I spent about a week and a half reviewing every shoe known to man. I was splendid definite I wanted an Asic imprint shoe as they generally possess up to wear and slide the best and have a aesthetic top-notch reputation for quality and comfort. I'm cheerful I stuck with my gut! these are tremendous! The women's are unbiased like the men's shoe I'm delicate obvious - and if you read the men's reviews -this shoe does not disappoint.

This will sound nuts and I don't every possess this kind of stuff when I read it in reviews but...here goes. I bought these and wore them to my volleyball practice that night, and I have to say that it was by far one of my best practices yet. I mean, I'm a skeptical person and I can't maintain it was the shoe but I got 5 to 6 more blocks than I normally would that night. I also wore it true after purchasing for 12 hours straight at a tournament (about 5 to 6 games) and I didn't have any issues with injure or discomfort or needing to "shatter them in". If you are looking for a mid tag, comfortable shoe for volleyball- this is it!

The shoes are colossal -- the only jam --I didn't receive the color I ordered. My daughter was very disappointed. We didn't have time to send them befriend and she didn't have school colors on her shoes. This is a enormous deal when you are 14!!!

Good Stuff:

- I type thirty or so pages a week between three different computers. The keyboard on this diminutive guy works big for my purposes. I'm 6'3", 280 lb. and yeah, I have sizable hands. - Minimal bloatware. Took impartial a couple minutes to take the stuff I didn't want.

- Fair and practical acquire.

- It has a expedient note and decent sound... for a netbook.

[Edit] As far as sound goes, it depends on what you're listening to. My Baroque Classical and Russian Chant sounds substantial, as does anything spoken word. My Swedish Death Metal (and anything similar) sounds tinny and musty.

- While it was no utilize to me, it came with some basic office programs already loaded. Objective one of many things Asus did to try and beget this netbook ready to utilize straight out of the box.

- At least so far... the battery life is fair discontinuance to what's advertised.

[Edit] I'm able to find honest under eight hours of operation out of it, without turning the cloak brightness all the design down or wireless/bluetooth options off.

[Edit] Swapping out the 1GB Memory stick for a 2 GB Memory stick was easy.

Bad Stuff:

- It attracts finger prints like bees to flowers. Gather skins/decals/stickers for the outside cloak if you're really OCD.

- Doesn't develop coffee.

- Rotund. The wife has a 1002HA with a 2 cell battery and it is soo slim and strim looking compared to mine. Hers is a half pound lighter too. She tranquil gets 4-5 hours of battery life out of hers even with the smaller battery.

Thoughts:

For the money, it's one of the best netbooks out there. I looked at almost every netbook available and read over 500 reviews before deciding on this one. I bought the 1002HA (brushed aluminized) for my wife because she didn't need the battery life and wanted something more professional looking.

[Edit] I spent the weekend passing it around to people I know and letting them type on it, and everyone (substantial or microscopic) gorgeous mighty agreed that it was an easy keyboard to adjust to and comfortable. My father ordered the Blue 1000HE (from Amazon!) he liked it so grand.

I have had the Eee PC 1000HE for about a week now, and it has fulfilled my every expectation. Because I hadn't started up the Eee without installing the 2 GB RAM I'd purchased, this review is relevant to those who belief to upgrade, or have already upgraded the RAM in the unit. For those who don't, I will add that it is extremely easy and inexpensive to double the RAM of this netbook. I had never opened a laptop chassis before, and it took all of 5 minutes.

Pros:

*Up front, the package is inexpensive. You definitely acquire the bang for your buck

*Bright, smart cloak with an honorable viewing angle.

*Large, more comfortable keyboard; touch typing is incredibly easy to pick up stale to.

*Long battery life; I've had mine unplugged for over seven hours without a recharge.

*Exactly the amount of power and accelerate that I need from a computer, I'm able to speed some of my common games (GTA: San Andreas, UT2004, and Neverwinter Nights) without breaking a sweat, edit photos and stream videos through the wireless card.

*The power-saving hotkeys are really useful. Most of the time I don't look the dissimilarity between 'Power-Saving' mode and 'Super Performace' mode, which means for normal usage I'm saving a lot of battery life.

Cons:

*The volume is a bit too obscene on the speakers, AND when I'm wearing headphones. I've opened up all of the volume adjusters at one point or another, and I can't increase the volume past a sure point. I could imagine this being very irritating on a long bus perambulate or a plane accelerate.

*As really expedient the multi-touch pad is (and it truly is marvelous), some of the presets are too closely linked to "scroll up and down". For example, I net myself opening a 'magnifying glass' one moment, and 'zooming out' of a webpage the next. I couldn't figure out why all my webpages were runt. So disabling most of the multi-touch functions is probably a intellectual conception when you bag started.

*This is impartial a quibble, but the resolution of 1024 x 600 is so specific to a very microscopic number of machines.

Overall, the Eee PC 1000HE is something I will be using consistently. It is exactly what I need.

I've had my 1000HE for a week now. I bought it with the 2gb of ram and installed the unique ram in under 10 minutes, having never done such a thing in my life before. With the unusual ram, my 1000HE ran both Windows XP and then the Windows 7 beta with ease. I can speed iTunes version 8 and Firefox and Microsoft Word at the same time without any problems.

The blue surface does attract fingerprints, but it's not so noticeable that it bothers me, and I've been consistent (so far) about wiping it elegant after every other spend.

The webcam works very well, even for a cheap laptop, and I was able to steal reasonably defined pics with it.

The battery life with my "normal usage" runs about 8 hours, though I haven't place it on power-saving mode to study if that's grand longer.

I expend this netbook on the yell and haven't had distress with the volume control in my headphones.

The trackpad buttons are a tad stiff at first, but mine have loosened unprejudiced in the past week and are now very comfortable to exercise.

I've found that the 1000HE picks up my home's network very easily and the internet speeds transfer very well.

As for the keyboard, I'm a "genuine typist" and was ancient to the 92 percent size within the first day. The chiclit style is grand better, in my plan, than the venerable 1000H model or the Acer keyboard.

I transfer all of my programs and games and movies with a usb flash-drive, so I haven't had any need for an external dvd drive

All in all a astronomical investment at under 400 dollars, and I'm a college student who scrimps and saves her every penny.

I am a passe BOSE Acustimass 10 owner. When i got into Home theater, I was a newbie and handsome grand bought into the marketing power of BOSE. They had the nice itsy-bitsy Demonstration stands at Best Seize and at Fry's Electronics, they have the Soundroom that is tweaked to invent the Bose sound wonderful. Plight is, that room costs hundreds of thousands of dollars of technology to produce the BOSE Accoutimass speakers sound that helpful. I don't have $$$,$$$.$$ to use on a room. You need to search for the EQ equiptment in that room.

Safe to say, I was slightly dissappointed then these speakers did not sound as honorable in my house as in the store. Aloof un-deterred, I figured it was my room (of course, it can't be as valid as THAT sound room) and they peaceful sound better then some other satellites speakers (though not by powerful) is why i justifying paying a worthy higher impress.
Little unknown fact: These miniature cubes cost BOSE about $35.00 to get each double cube speaker. (5x35 = 175.00 plus probably 75 for the bassmodule = $250. This means on a $1000.00 system, the retailer and BOSE is pocketing $750.00 of your dollars)
You can select replacement drivers on the web for about $35.00 per pair. They are paper cones and plastic casing. http://layneaudio.hypermart.net/specials.htm

The most considerable thing is, if you have a decent A/V Receiver, you should be able to occupy "Source Advise" which means the Reciever acts as a pass through, adding no EQ to the music, and impartial supplies power to the speakers. When playing anything in "Source Deny" mode, these BOSE speakers were the same as a cheap clock radio or the TV speakers. Actually, the TV speakers on my Sony Vega was better. Only if you spend EQ, like Jazz Club, or Stereo or something like that did the speakers a miniature better. This is for music.
I am joyful for 1 thing. I was not duped into getting a Bose Lifestyle system. My AVR and DVD separates are great better then the lifestyle box. I mean.. advance on BOSE, can't you place a Progressive Scan DVD player in it?

For HT, the accoustimass is slightly better. since they do play squeakly noises agreeable, you are able to catch fine suitable glass breaking sounds. This is because BOSE has almost no lower midrange sounds to express of. This device, the sqeaky highs are of course going to sound more defined. The Bass module is blueprint underpowered. You will never gather the feel like a dependable subwoofer. Thats a puny dissappointing with the movies and no "instruct" achieve during explosions. Almost everyone who keeps the AM system will net 1 or 2 subwoofers. (250 to 500 a part) . At that point, you are already almost in 1500.00 situation. That puts you bellow against some "reference" lines of Klipsch and Polk Audio.

Still, i was not so upset to return the system. I exquisite noteworthy decided that all speaker systems sound sterling at the store, but will lose something at the house. It wasn't until recently when I started to learn more about speakers like Polk Audio and Klipsch did I realize what I was missing out on. I bought a current speaker system and sold this BOSE system on EBAY. I am jubilant that BOSE has top-notch re-sell value due to their extensive marketing. I have a unique klipsch system which forced me to re-listen to every music CD that I had to spy what i have been missing all this time. Its truly amazing. I had to re-watch my movies on DVD and they all seem more alive and enthralling. Grand more like the theater. To say the least, if you only listen to BOSE or the stuff at Best Engage, you have exiguous to compare with. The better audio stuff is only a few dollars more, are more flexible and notify profitable performance for the dollar. I guess BOSE will sound better then those cheap 200.00 systems, but only marginally better. I bought a cheap kenwood 206 system for my mother. It under $250.00 and it was very comparable to this Bose system for $999.99 and it came with a A/V Receiver!!! What are you paying for? I guess the rights to those 4 letters... B-O-S-E. For my money... BOSE is not worthy different from WOES.

I have always race all of my media through my pc and my worn speaker plot (a Midiland 5.1 system) was thoroughly venerable and falling apart I decided it was time to upgrade. I wanted something that had unbelievable sound with both music and dvd's. I shopped around and came to the conclusion I would aim for the accomplish factor speakers. When considering this bose system, this MUST be taken into myth.

First off, this system is expensive. For unprejudiced under 1000 dollars (doesn't 999 sound sooo great better than 1g? ) you obtain 5 bi-directional midrange speakers, the subwoofer unit, and speaker cable. At this note it is very disappointing that bose does not include some sort of receiver, but no matter this leaves room for the customer to customize his/her choice to suit any personal needs and/or budget. Bose includes 3 colors (white, silver, sad) and all the speakers are well packaged and aesthetically blooming with the exception of the sub unit (a enormous rectangular box meant to establish residence but does not) .

What brought me to scrutinize into this system was the specific size of the speakers and there general attractiveness. For their size the bose do a very gracious job of reproducing any sound-granted they are paired with a competent receiver. Anyone who has any qualms about this system should first deem what they are running their sound through, without competent equipment these speakers will not be on par with what you heard in the store.

Once I got the system home it was very easy to location up and install. Bose packages the speakers with determined instructions and all of the wires are meant to be hidden and include markings as to what speakers they belong to-a very handy feature especially when one is trying to shroud this system. The only serious convey I have with this system ended up being with my receiver (an Onkyo) and not related at all with the speakers.

Since I do bustle this through my computer (presently a laptop) I had a few troubles setting up a fresh sound card and getting it too mesh with my receiver, but when that was all said and done, I was extremely please with the system. With a bose the tweaking one needs to do is very minimal and thus why this deserves the higher notice tag-its target audience is usually those more affluent and unable to expend hours tweaking individual speaker levels and sound ranges.

My test soundtracks included: Gladiator, Matrix (II or III), Snatch, and music tracks ranging from techno, rock, classical, and alternative. Everything sounded gigantic with enough extreme, high, and midrange response. The second complaint I have with this system is not differentiating in the least between any of the satellites. I found myself turning the response on the center channel up so the front speakers weren't drowning out the voices. That was solved with a shrimp tweaking so nothing major there.

All in all this speaker system is a tall investment in my mind satisfying all of my needs (though draining my bank legend) and providing me with astronomical surround sound.

Good: Mountainous range and volume of sound. Easy set-up. Well built speakers-aesthetically and physically. No interference or feedback.

Bad: Subwoofer awkward, no dedicated center channel, pricey, no included receiver.

For their size these speakers more than compete with any full-blown tower 5.1 system. Here is one ecstatic customer.

I am not certain why everyone has such a treasure affair with Bose speakers. Perhaps it is the marketing or the fact that the bass module produces a lot of bass (although it is not very just.) The largest quandary with these speakers is that there is absolutely zero mid-range. The highs are decent and the lows are grand, but there is nothing in the middle - zilch. Nada. I would not recommend buying these speakers. There are many better systems out there for the same money.
